The Minister of Hydraulics, Sanitation and Health (Minhas), Bouaké Fofana, recently launched a vast drinking water supply project in Galébré, a sub-prefecture of the department of Gagnoa.
It was in the presence of Myss Belmonde Dogo, Minister of National Cohesion, Solidarity and the Fight against Poverty, local girl and MP for the constituency.
This government program is part of the major urban hydraulic works. The launch of Galébré marks the first phase of the construction of the works. It concerns 95 sub-prefecture capitals nationwide. A second ceremony to launch the works is planned for Monday, December 16 in Djibrosso, in Worodougou.
The choice of Galébré was motivated by the fact that the construction of the castle had already been launched on June 30, 2018, by the late Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly.
Bouaké Fofana was also pleased with the completion of one of the three drillings. He also symbolically proceeded to lay a pipeline.
The urban hydraulics project ultimately targets 200 sub-prefectures. It has an estimated cost of 133 billion CFA francs, and is supported by technical and financial partners such as the Mitrelli group.
This program is, according to Bouaké Fofana, “a concrete and ambitious response to the challenges faced by many sub-prefectures. It will allow more than 1,500,000 people to have secure access to drinking water, in accordance with the vision of the President of the Republic, Alassane Ouattara, who does not want a single inhabitant of Côte d’Ivoire to be left behind.”
