About The Position

We are looking for an experienced IT Systems Administrator to take ownership of the day-to-day administration, maintenance and support of the company’s IT infrastructure at country level.

This is a hands-on infrastructure role covering systems administration, Microsoft 365, cloud and endpoint management, virtualisation, networking, IT security and technical support. The ideal candidate is a strong all-round IT infrastructure professional who can troubleshoot independently, manage local infrastructure and users, and work closely with Group IT to implement global standards, maintain a secure and reliable IT environment, and support infrastructure improvements and technology initiatives.

Your CV should demonstrate practical, hands-on experience across the following areas:

  • Windows Server and Active Directory administration, including GPO, DNS and DHCP
  • Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Intune, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive
  • VMware vSphere / ESXi or an equivalent enterprise virtualisation environment
  • Network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi and VPNs
  • Backup, disaster recovery and infrastructure monitoring
  • IT security and endpoint protection, including Microsoft Defender and vulnerability remediation
  • L2/L3 technical support and troubleshooting of complex infrastructure, system, network and endpoint issues
  • Participation in IT projects, migrations and infrastructure deployments
  • Experience coordinating with Group IT, external IT service providers and technical vendors

We are looking for someone who has personally administered and troubleshot these environments, rather than having only general exposure to the technologies.

The successful candidate should be able to work independently, take ownership of the local IT infrastructure and users, and collaborate effectively with Group IT to implement standards, resolve technical issues and continuously improve the local IT environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Systems & Infrastructure

  • Administer and maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
  • Manage and maintain VMware vSphere / ESXi environments.
  • Perform system upgrades, patching, monitoring and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Manage backup and disaster recovery solutions and perform regular recovery tests.

Microsoft 365 & Endpoints

  • Administer Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive.
  • Manage Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid identity environments.
  • Manage user devices through Microsoft Intune, including configuration, security, compliance and lifecycle management.

Network & Security

  • Maintain and troubleshoot firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi and VPNs.
  • Implement local IT security controls in line with Group IT standards.
  • Support Microsoft Defender, endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation and access controls.
  • Investigate and resolve infrastructure and security incidents, escalating critical issues to Group IT when required.

Technical Support

  • Provide L2/L3 technical support to users.
  • Troubleshoot complex server, system, network, application and endpoint issues.
  • Manage incidents and service requests and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain technical documentation, procedures and infrastructure records.

Projects & IT Improvement

  • Support IT migrations, infrastructure deployments and technology projects.
  • Implement Group IT systems, standards and security initiatives locally.
  • Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure reliability, security and user experience.
  • Coordinate with Group IT and external IT service providers when required.

Requirements

  • Must have Angolan nationality.
  • Must be fluent Portuguese and English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Systems Administration, IT Infrastructure or Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Windows Server & Active Directory
  • Microsoft 365 & Entra ID
  • Microsoft Intune
  • VMware vSphere / ESXi
  • DNS, DHCP and Group Policy
  • Firewalls, switches and VPNs
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery
  • Good understanding of IT security, endpoint protection and vulnerability management.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and technical issues independently.
  • Experience working with external IT providers and technical vendors.
  • Experience supporting IT projects, migrations or infrastructure implementations.
  • Microsoft, VMware, networking or cybersecurity certifications are an advantage.
  • Fluent Portuguese and English. French is an advantage.
