Hydroponic Farming Project

This hydroponic farming project is an innovative solution to enhance sustainable vegetable production while minimizing environmental impact. Covering 4.12 hectares, the facility includes greenhouses dedicated to leafy greens, peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes, enabling continuous, high-yield production. By adopting advanced hydroponic technology, the project optimizes water use efficiency, reduces reliance on chemical pesticides, and accelerates plant growth, providing a consistent supply of fresh produce to local markets. This initiative aligns with Angola’s food security strategy, ensuring year-round production, economic growth, and environmental sustainability.

Environmental Impact of Traditional Farming – Conventional agriculture contributes to deforestation, soil degradation, and greenhouse gas emissions, threatening long-term food security.

Water Scarcity & Inefficient Use – Traditional irrigation methods result in high water consumption and waste, making sustainable alternatives essential.Limited Fresh Produce Availability – The region faces challenges in maintaining consistent, high-quality vegetable production due to climatic conditions, pests and soil limitations.

Notre solution

To address environmental concerns and improve food security, the project introduced a hydroponic farming system, allowing crops to grow on soilless system, using a nutrient-rich water solution. This method reduces water use, prevents soil degradation, and accelerates crop growth.

The facility integrates climate-controlled greenhouses, ensuring optimal temperature and humidity for vegetable production. A drip irrigation system enhances water efficiency, achieving nearly 100% utilization, compared to conventional methods.

Additionally, the project includes a fully autonomous nursery for the production of healthy seedlings, and packaging facilities for direct delivery to final customer.
