The new headquarters of the Ministry of Interior was inaugurated today on Avenida Murtala Mohamed, in Luanda. The project, developed and executed by Mitrelli under the supervision of the Ministry of Interior, marks a milestone in the modernization of Public Administration, strengthening the institutional and operational capacity of one of the State’s most important entities.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by His Excellency President João Gonçalves Lourenço and attended by government officials, including His Excellency Minister of the Interior Manuel Gomes da Conceição Homem, His Excellency Minister of Public Works, Urbanism, and Housing Carlos Alberto dos Santos, and the Governor of Luanda Province, Luís Fonseca.

The project to renovate and expand the Ministry’s headquarters is a strategic initiative aimed at improving the administrative and organizational processes of this essential institution. The infrastructure combines architectural preservation with functional innovation, reflecting the government’s commitment to a modern, technologically equipped public administration.

The new building will accommodate 972 staff members in modern, secure, and efficient workspaces. It features a Grand Hall, an Events Hall, a Gym, a Medical Post, a 144-seat Cafeteria, and a state-of-the-art Data Center that enables the Ministry’s digital management and communications.

“Besides being a physical building and structure, it is a symbol of efficiency, organization, and the Ministry of Interior’s commitment to public service,” said Minister Manuel Homem during the ceremony. “It represents a significant step in institutional modernization and in creating better working conditions for all professionals who ensure public safety and order in Angola every day.”

The project also integrates digital solutions and smart management systems to optimize operational performance. By centralizing the Ministry’s main services, it enhances institutional coordination and promotes a more integrated and citizen-focused public administration.

Mitrelli, responsible for the project’s design and execution, highlighted its significance for the country. “We are proud to deliver to the Ministry of Interior a modern, efficient, and technologically advanced infrastructure,” said Rodrigo Manso, CEO of Mitrelli. “Beyond constructing buildings, we create solutions that strengthen institutions, empower people, promote sustainable development, and drive national progress.”

During the ceremony, held as part of the celebrations marking the 50th Anniversary of Angola’s Independence, the project’s social and economic impact was emphasized, from the creation of direct and indirect jobs to the promotion of national talent through opportunities for technical knowledge transfer at all stages of construction.

As the country continues to advance its modernization and administrative efficiency agenda, this inauguration stands as a collective commitment to innovation, good governance, and human development.
